… so heisst das neue Album von Green Day, welches definitiv im Mai 2009 erscheinen wird. Laut greenday.de gibt es schon einzelne Details zum kommenden, achten Album von Green Day:

Wie ihr schon wisst, wird das das neue Werk in drei Akte aufgeteilt sein:

1. Heroes and Cons,
2. Charlatans and Saints und
3. Horseshoes and Handgrenades.

Das hörte sich ja schon sehr nach Konzeptalbum an, Mike Dirnt erklärte jetzt sogar noch ein paar mehr Einzelheiten zum Aufbau: Die Songs “sprechen zueinander, in der Art, wie die Songs auf [Bruce Springsteen?s] “Born to Run” zueinander sprechen. Ich weiß nicht, ob man es Konzeptalbum nennen kann, aber es gibt einen roten Faden, der alles verbindet.”

Das hört sich ja mal wieder verdammt spannend an! Wie es scheint, bewegen sich Green Day immer weiter in Richtung “ganz große Kunst”! Gut so.

Auf Ultimate-Guitar.com findet ihr das verkürzte Interview mit Billy Joe Armstrong über das neue Album, welches 2009 erscheinen soll.

“I’m pushing myself to be progressive in songwriting and being a songwriter.

“I come from a culture where I’m into great albums, and I still believe in that. I’m fiddling more with the arrangements and writing songs.

“I think the way we make records is just kind of a classic way of making records. Everybody uses Pro Tools now, you know–we use Pro Tools, and we use tape.”

Ich höre schon seit etwa 2 Jahren Typecast. Das ist ne Band aus den Phillipinen (sehr warscheinlich noch falsch geschrieben). Ja, die können da auch ziemlich rocken! Schaut euch mal dieses Video an. Live aufgenommen in den Towerrecords. Wer weiss, vielleicht kommen die Jungs auch mal in die Schweiz?

Der Song Last time ist ein typischer emo song. ABER ICH BIN KEIN EMO, ich seh nur so aus und hör solche musik :p

We haven’t talked about it at all. Right now it’s just good for the three of us to see one another, reconnect, and let the past be the past. The events of the past two months supersede everything that happened before. Life is too short.“

Very little is known about the highly anticipated new Green Day album, though the band’s label let slip that the record is due in 2009. Their last album, “American Idiot“, was a massive critical and commercial success and the band followed up the album with the “side project” Foxboro Hot Tubs who released “Stop Drop and Roll!!!” earlier this year.
